Red Ribbon Week Healthy Choices Habits Drug Awareness Fall Escape Room Lesson
Looking for a fun Red Ribbon Week lesson on Healthy Choices? Or a fall classroom adventure that promotes teamwork, problem-solving, and a healthy lifestyle? The is an engaging escape room activity designed to get students “hiking the trail” toward better choices—like understanding what’s in their control, eating healthy, staying active, and saying no to harmful substances.
Escape Room Fun with a Purpose:
In this classroom guidance lesson, students will set out on a hiking adventure. But there’s a challenge—they must work together to solve puzzles and complete hiking-themed tasks in order to discover the secret trail code that will lead them safely out of the woods.
Exploring Healthy vs. Unhealthy Choices:
Students will work in teams to solve 5 engaging puzzles:
1.Understanding the Choices We Control
2.Eating Healthy on the Trail
3.Choosing Active, Healthy Adventures
4.Saying No to Sneaky Substances
5.The Final Hike to Escape
To crack the code, students will use picture-graphs, a compass decoder, and sorting challenges. With each puzzle solved, they earn a puzzle piece that leads them closer to the final escape. Once they’ve completed their hike, students can celebrate with a Healthy Choices Bookmark to color or a Healthy Choices Tab Book to illustrate—perfect for reinforcing the lesson.
