New Student Meet the School Counselor Get to Know You Tumble Blocks Card Game

To set up the game, simply print the card fronts and backs on sturdy cardstock. Make sure the green card back aligns with the green card front, and do the same for the blue and purple cards. Once you've completed this step, you'll have a set of 54 unique "get to know you" cards. These cards are divided into three categories:
- Questions about school
- Questions about the student
- Fun impressions & movement cards
Next, grab a tumble blocks towers game, like Jenga, and number each block using a permanent marker. You'll assign the numbers 1, 2, or 3 to the blocks.
Now, let's dive into the New Kids on the Block game!
- Stack the numbered blocks as you would in a regular game.
- As each player pulls out a numbered block, they'll select a corresponding card from the pile with the matching number: purple for #1, blue for #2, and green for #3.
- The player will then answer the question on the card before placing their block on top of the tower.
- The game continues until the tower tumbles, making it an exciting and engaging experience for everyone.
Alternatively, you can shuffle the cards and play without using the tumble tower blocks for a different variation of the game.
Here are some examples of the questions you'll find in the three categories:
- Questions about School:
- What is the name of your teacher?
- What are our school colors?
- Name one person you have met at our school.
- If you could change anything about school, what would it be?
- What is your biggest worry aboutcoming to our school?
2. Questions about the Student:
- How many brothers & sisters do you have?
- What is your favorite food to eat?
- What is your favorite color?
- If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
- What are you proudest of in your life?
3. Fun Impressions & Movement:
- Hop on one foot the number of years old you are.
- Spin as many times as your grade in school.
- Pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time.
- Show us your best dance move.
- Act out your favorite thing to do.
