January Winter SEL New Years Resolutions Reflections Goals Roll a Snowman Game
Kick off the New Year with this engaging Snowman Roll & Respond Self Reflections and Goal-Setting Activity! Students will develop a growth mindset by reflecting on the past year, setting new goals, and engaging in a fun, interactive snowman-building dice game. Perfect for goal-setting activities, reflection exercises, or New Year's classroom fun, this activity combines reflection, collaboration, and creativity.
How It Works:
- Print and prepare the dice and snowman pieces.
- Students roll the dice, answer reflection and goal-setting questions, and collect snowman pieces as they go.
- Play in pairs to collaboratively build snowmen or individually for a fun goal-setting game!
I like to use this as a start-up activity before introducing goal-setting. Students roll the cube, answer the corresponding reflection question, and earn a piece to build their snowman.
Not only can you use this game for reflection, but it also comes with a Questions Template slide that is editable. You can add your own questions making this resource one you can use for any subject or review!
Benefits:
- Provides an engaging startup activity before delving into goal-setting!
- Promotes reflection on the previous year while facilitating resolutions or goals for the new year!
- Encourages student enjoyment through a fun activity!
- Offers an editable Questions Template slide, adaptable to other subject reviews!
Ways to Use:
- Use as a warm-up activity to a goal-setting lesson!
- Use as an extension activity to a goal-setting lesson!
- Use individually to facilitate a conversation!
- Use as a group game and be the first to build a snowman!
