Test-Taking Skills & Strategies ESCAPE ROOM Standardized Testing Prep Lesson

This Test-Taking Strategies Escape Room will have students using teamwork to solve puzzles on three islands and learn test-taking tips in preparation for standardized tests!

Ahoy there Mateys! Avast, all ye pirates about to start the standardized testing mayhem! Landlubbers and pirates alike will enjoy escaping the stormy test-taking seas through this fun, interactive test-prep lesson! The lesson begins with a PowerPoint explaining the escape room puzzles. Students will work together in teams to make their way down Tricky Treasure Trail on Treasure Island, crack the Coconut Code in Coconut Cove, and put together the Message in Bottle puzzles on Shipwreck Shore. As each puzzle is completed, students collect tips to help before, during, and even after the test! The final puzzle earns them a key to open the treasure chest which can include PIRATE Bookmarks. Finish the lesson by returning to the PowerPoint and reviewing what they have learned. Your crew will be set to sail through testing on calm seas once they learn these tips.
