Healthy Choices Drug Awareness Red Ribbon Week Halloween Escape Room Lesson

This Healthy Haunts Halloween Escape lesson is a spooky-fun escape room designed specifically for students to explore making healthy choices such as understanding choices in our control, eating healthy, participating in healthy activities, and saying no to harmful things to our bodies.
Escape Room Fun with a Purpose: In this classroom guidance lesson, students will embark on a spooky adventure to escape from a haunted mansion. But there's a twist – they must work together to make healthy choices to solve a variety of puzzles and challenges to discover the secret code that will set them free.
Examining Healthy vs. Unhealthy Choices: Students will work in teams to solve 5 puzzles. The puzzles include 1) Understanding the Choices in which we have control, 2) Eating Healthy, 3) Healthy Activities, 4) Saying No to Sneaky Substances, and 5) The Final Escape. Students will use picture-graphs, a Spider Cipher, and sorting to decode and solve the puzzles! With each puzzle solved students will earn a piece of the final puzzle to assemble and decode. Once escaped, students will receive a Healthy Choices Bookmark to color or a Healthy Choices Tab Book to illustrate as part of this engaging activity.
