Looking for a fun, interactive feelings lesson? This SEL lesson teaches critical social skills of managing emotions and communicating effectively by practicing feelings identification and using I messages!

The lesson begins with introducing feelings. “We all have lots of feelings! Sometimes we really like the feeling that we are having. We call those pleasant feelings….”

Review and discuss each of the feelings by clicking on each feeling snowman to learn more about them!

Next, students identify feelings in Snow Globe Scenarios. When the correct feeling is chosen, the snow globe animates with swirling snow to reveal the correct feeling snowman!

The second part of the lesson models making I messages. Students learn the three parts of an I message and then practice making them. Assess student learning by having students Build a Snowman. Students will choose the I Message. Watch as the snowballs appear on the slideshow to create a snowman in the end.

Finally, allow students to play "I" Message Memory card game or Color by Code Frosty’s Feelings.
