A Magical Meet the SOCIAL WORKER Introduction DIGITAL Back to School ESCAPE ROOM
This is a magical, interactive Meet the Social Worker Introduction Digital Escape Room lesson for distance learning. Using Google Slides, students are able to click on the magical objects in the castle that link to the puzzles. As students solve the puzzles, they learn about the roles of the school Social Worker while trying to escape an evil wizard’s plans. While completing the escape room style activities, students will unscramble the feelings, recognize roles of the Social Worker, and identify how to access the Social Worker!
In each classroom, students must solve puzzles and then submit their answers on a Google form to save the professors who have been changed into frogs! As each puzzle is solved, the students receive one of the professor frogs: Professor Quizzy, Professor Bizzy, and Professor Dizzy,
"Welcome to Wizarding School, my friends,
where having fun never ends.
We’ll brew some cauldrons of our potions,
and learn all about our emotions.
We’ll get out our wands and practice a spell,
learn what the Social Worker does very well.
We’ll see if our crystal ball is clear,
so we’ll know how to talk to the
Social Worker all year.
But unfortunately before school began,
an evil wizard had a plan.
“A curse has fallen upon this place,
you will no longer teach in this space!”
And poof, the professors were no longer here,
the evil wizard had made them disappear.
And there before everyone’s eyes,
sat three magical frogs eating flies.
So now it’s up to you to choose.
Will you solve the puzzles & clues,
to bring the wizarding professors back
and get the school year back on track? "
This lesson can be presented individually for long-distance learning or for small group completion using a computer or iPad. Students will access a Google Form Quiz and Google Slideshow to complete the escape room style activities.
You will receive a PDF that includes two links: A Google Forms link to submit answers and a Google Slides link to work the interactive puzzles. Each link will prompt the user to make a copy of the activity (this prevents the original from being changed).
