Here's the scoop: our students are getting ready for their big moment on the red carpet at the Oscars, but uh-oh! Something's gone awry with their film! They're faced with a challenge to save the day by cracking the codes in the Pre-Production room, Production room, Set, and Post-Production room. But fear not! With their critical thinking skills, they'll solve each puzzle and learn the crucial steps to solving problems along the way. And when they emerge victorious, they'll earn their very own Hollywood Star of Fame! It's a lesson in teamwork and cooperation that'll have everyone feeling like a star. So, are you ready for your close-up?
Prepping for this lesson:
Before you start this lesson, there are a few things you'll need to do. First, print out the directions and puzzles for each group and make sure to laminate them or put them in pocket protectors to keep them in good condition. Each group will need 4 pages to cut out, and a prep guide is provided to help you set up each puzzle correctly. Once you have all the materials ready, you can place them in envelopes or clasp folders so that each group has their own set of puzzles to work on.
Now, onto the fun stuff! This escape room includes a comprehensive lesson plan, detailed setup instructions, a slideshow for students to explain each puzzle's directions, and 5 exciting puzzles to solve.
